Cyclists
If you come by bike you will avoid the traffic jams and can park your bike within walking distance of the entrance!
There is a separate bicycle parking lot at parking B and C - at walking distance (300m) from the entrances of the airshow.
There is also a parking lot at the nearby Center Parcs Erperheide if you come to the airshow by car and bike(s). Via the order module, you have to check the option 'I'm coming by car and bike'. You will then receive a bicycle plan with route (the 5km route is fully signposted) from this parking at Center Parcs to the Air Base bicycle parking C, at walking distance (300m) from the entrance of the airshow.
Public transportation
Getting to the base via public transportation is not easy, as there are not many buses. If you do want to come by public transportation, you can find some options below:
- You take the train to Genk. In Genk, at platform 9, you can take the bus line 33 Genk-Neerpelt to the bus stop 'Spotters-Corner'. From there it is about a 30-minute walk to the base.
- Take the train to Hasselt. In Hasselt, take the train Line 48 Hamont-Neerpelt- bus stop 'Peer O.L Vrouwlaan'. From there it's +/- 5 min walk to the base.
Please follow the approach routes and Parking signs according to your Parking voucher. No (free) parking voucher yet: order them online now!
Disabled
Parking and assistance is provided for people using wheelchairs. The parking for people with a disability (if P ticket (B) with wheelchair access is chosen) is accessible for people with a disability card. This includes transportation to a separate area on the show grounds where only one attendant per disabled person is allowed. One can move freely within the audience area.
Program Book
At the two public entrances a program book and map of the airbase will be offered at the price of 5 Euro in which the complete flight program with the timings will be mentioned.
Food/drinks
Drink plenty of water in hot weather. There are water points (see map below) at four locations (Pole 3, 4, 9, 16) around the showground where you can refill your water bottle.
There are plenty of catering stands around the showground with a wide range of drinks and food. It is permitted to bring a bottle of water and/or a snack. Coolers are NOT allowed. Backpacks will be strictly searched at the entrance. Please allow for possible queues. Alcoholic beverages will be confiscated. Glass bottles are NOT allowed.
Toilet facilities
There are sufficient toilets provided throughout the base. In addition, there are also toilets provided for people with a disability. A bracelet which gives you access to the toilets costs 3 euros for one day. For a whole weekend, the price is 4.50 euros. For the three days it costs 5.00 euros.
Pets
Dogs are NOT allowed.
From a safety standpoint, the runway is in very close proximity to the showground and should a dog make its way onto the runway it could become a safety hazard for everyone in attendance.
